William Judson Holloway, Jr. is a Federal Appeals judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Holloway is a judge serving on senior status.
Early life and Education
A native Oklahoman, Holloway graduated from Oklahoma with his Bachelor's Degree in 1947 and later graduated from Harvard Law with his law degree in 1950. Holloway also served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946. [1]
Legal career
Holloway began his career as a private practice attorney licensed in the State of Oklahoma from 1950 to 1951 before becoming a General Litigation Claims Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC from 1951 to 1952 before resuming private practice work in Oklahoma from 1952 to 1968. [1]
Federal judicial career
Holloway was nominated by President Lyndon Johnson on August 2, 1968 to a new seat created by 82 Stat. 184 which was approved by Congress. Holloway was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 13, 1968 on a Senate vote and received commission on September 16, 1968. Holloway served as the Chief Judge of the court from 1984 to 1991 before later assuming senior status on May 31, 1992. [1]
