William R. McGuiness is the presiding justice for the First District, Third Division of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed to the court by then-Governor Wilson and took office on December 21, 1998. McGuiness was retained November 5, 2002 and January 8, 2007. [1] His current term expires on January 7, 2019.[2]
Education
McGuiness graduated from Santa Clara University in 1968 and the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1972. [3]
