William Ray Price, Jr. is a justice on the Missouri Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court on April 7, 1992 by then-governor John Ashcroft, a Republican. Price was then retained in office first in November 1994 for a 12-year term that expired in 2006 and was again retained in November 2006 for another twelve-year term on the court. His current term expires in 2018.

Price also served as Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court from July 1999 through June 2001.[1]

Education

Justice Price was educated in the Keokuk, Iowa, public schools before receiving a Bachelor of Arts with high distinction (Religion) in 1974 from the University of Iowa. He was also a Rockefeller Fellow at Yale University Divinity School from 1974-1975, and earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law, 1978.

Price was an Attorney with the Lathrop Norquist law firm in Kansas City from 1978 to 1992, where he served as an Associate (1978-1983) and a Partner (1984-1992). He was Chairman, Business Litigation Section, (1987-1988 and 1990-1992); Member, Managing Partners Committee (1989-1990); and Member, Executive Committee (1990-1992).
