Elaine B. Brown is a judge on the Indiana Court of Appeals for the Fifth District. She was appointed by Governor Daniels and took office on May 5, 2008. [1] Her current term expires in 2020.

Education

Judge Brown received her B.A. from Indiana University in 1976 and her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington in 1982. Prior to law school, she worked as a public school teacher. [1]

Legal career

During Judge Brown's early legal career, she worked with the law firm Thom & DeMotte. In 1987, she became a judge on the Dubois Superior Court. She held this position until 1998. She then began a solo law practice and worked for the law firm Fine & Hatfield as a senior attorney until 2005. That year, she was appointed to another term on the Dubois Superior Court. In 2008, she left for the Court of Appeals.[1]
