Francis R. Fecteau is a justice on the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the intermediate appellate court for the state of Massachusetts. He was appointed by Governor Patrick and took office in January 16, 2008.[1]

Biography

Fecteau graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1969 with a B.A. in history. In 1972, he received his J.D. degree from Boston College Law School.[1]

Legal career

Judge Fecteau began his legal career as an attorney for the Worcester Tenants Association. He then became a staff attorney with the Neighborhood Legal Services of Worcester. He worked in the Worcester County District Attorney's office until 1979, when he left to work as a private practice lawyer. In 1996, he was appointed to judge on the Superior Court, where he worked until his appointment to the Court of Appeals.[1]
