Gabriel Duvall was a federal judge on the Supreme Court of the United States. He joined the court in 1811 after an appointment from James Madison. At the time of appointment, Duvall was the Comptroller for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He served until his retirement on January 12, 1835. He passed away on March 6, 1844.[1]

Supreme Court of the United States

He was nominated by President James Madison on November 15, 1811 to a seat vacated by Samuel Chase. He was confirmed by the Senate on November 18, 1811, and received commission that same day. He served until his retirement on January 12, 1835.[1] He was succeeded to this post by Philip Pendelton Barbour.
