Judge Jon Stafsholt

Jon Stafsholt is a Minnesota Eighth Judicial District judge for Pope County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position on June 20, 1983 and was elected to full terms in 1984, 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008. His current term ends in January of 2015.[1]

Education

Stafsholt holds an A.A. degree from California Lutheran University, B.A. (Spanish) and B.J. (Journalism) degrees from the University of Missouri (1965), and a J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School (1972).[1]

Career

Stafsholt began his legal career in 1972 as a general practice lawyer in Elbow Lake, MN. He worked in this capacity until his judicial appointment in 1983. Also, from 1979 to 1983, he served in the public sector as a Grant County Attorney.[1]
