Karen Nakasone is a judge on the O`ahu First Circuit Court in Hawaii. She was nominated by Governor Neil Abercrombie in August 2011 to succeed Sabrina S. McKenna. The nomination was confirmed by the Hawaii Senate, by a vote of 22-0. Nakasone's term will expire on October 31, 2021.

Education

Nakasone received her undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. from Boston University School of Law.

Career

From 1996 until her appointment, Nakasone was a Deputy Public Defender in Honolulu. Before that, she was a law clerk for Simeon Acoba.
