Federal judgeship nomination
Margo Brodie was nominated by Obama to the Eastern District of New York on June 7. She was nominated to the spot left vacant by Judge Allyne Ross's retirement. Obama said of the nomination, "Throughout their careers these individuals have shown a dedication to justice. I am proud to nominate them to serve the American people from the district court bench.”[2]

Early life and education
Born in St. John`s, Antigua, Brodie earned her B.A. from St. Francis College in 1988. She went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Law to earn her J.D. three years later. [1]
Professional career
After law school, Brodie served as the Assistant corporation counsel for the New York City Law Department for 3 years. She then entered private practice in New York City from 1994-1999. She joined the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York in 1999 and served until her confirmation to the federal courts. [1]
