Miranda Du is a partner at the firm McDonald Carano Wilson LLP, in Reno, Nevada. On August 2, 2011 she was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of Nevada by Barack Obama.[1]

Federal court nomination

On August 2, 2011, Du was nominated to the federal bench by President Barack Obama to the seat vacated by Roger Hunt.[2]"Presidential Nomination Sent to the Senate" 7/20/2011</ref> Of the appointment, Obama said, “Miranda Du will be an esteemed addition to the Federal bench for the people of Nevada. I am grateful for her dedication to public service.”[1]

Early life and education

Du received a B.A. from U. of California, Davis in 1991 and a juris doctorate degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1994.[1]
