The structure of the New Mexico judicial system is laid out in Article VI of the state Constitution. The state court system is made up of the New Mexico Supreme Court, the New Mexico Court of Appeals, the New Mexico District Courts, the New Mexico Magistrate Court, the New Mexico Municipal Courts and various Courts of limited jurisdiction. There are two federal courts: the District of New Mexico[1] and the District of New Mexico Bankruptcy Court. Appeals go to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
