Paul W. Garfinkel (b. August 10, 1944) is a South Carolina Family Courts judge for the Ninth Circuit.[1] He was elected to this position in May 1995.[2]

Biography

Garfinkel earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina in 1967. He went on to receive his JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Columbia, in 1970. He is married to Susan Garfinkel, and they have five children and 12 grandchildren.[2]

Career

Garfinkel worked in private practice in Charleston from 1970 to 1989 as a solo practitioner. He then joined Riesen, Gardner and Felder. In 1991 he joined the 1st Congressional District for the State Occupational Health and Safety Review Board. He worked in this position until 1995, when he was elected to the 9th Circuit Family Court. He has been a Family Court Judge since then.[2]
