Richard D. Eade is a Civil Division judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed by then-Governor Bob Martinez on August 10, 1987, effective Sept. 1. He replaced retired Judge John G. Ferris. In 2006, he was re-elected to a term that ends on January 7, 2013.

Education

Eade received his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York, Buffalo in 1968 and his J.D. degree from Columbia University Law School in 1973.

Career

Eade began his career in 1973 as a prosecutor for Dade County. In 1978, he left that position to work as a private practice lawyer, first in New York and then in Florida. He then served in the Broward County State Attorney's Office from 1982 until his judicial appointment in 1987.
