Samuel Jameson Gholson (1808-1883) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
He was nominated by President Martin Van Buren on February 9, 1839. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 13, 1839, and received commission that same day. He resigned on January 10, 1861.[1]
