South Dakota judicial system
The structure of the South Dakota judicial system is laid out in Article V of the state Constitution. The state court system is made up of the South Dakota Supreme Court, South Dakota Circuit Courts and South Dakota Magistrate Courts. The federal court system in South Dakota is made up of the District Court of South Dakota and the District of South Dakota Bankruptcy Court. Appeals go to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
