Stephen A. Bucaria is a justice of the Nassau County Supreme Court in the 10th Judicial District of New York. He was elected to this position in 1996 and was re-elected in 2010 to a term ending in 2023.[1]

Education

Judge Bucaria received a B.A. degree from Fairfield University in 1970, an M.A. degree from S.U.N.Y. at Albany in 1971, and a J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1976.[2][1]

Legal career

Prior to receiving his law degree, Bucaria worked as a legislative assistant. He then worked in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office. From 1979 to 1987, he was a private practice lawyer. After that, he was a law secretary until 1993, when he was elected to the Nassau County District Court. He was first elected to the Supreme Court Justice in 1995 and re-elected on November 3, 2009.[1][2][3]
