Tegan Slaton is a judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit Court in Monroe County, Florida. He was elected on November 4, 2008 and took office in January of 2009. His current term expires on January 5, 2015.[1][2][3]

Education

Slaton received his B.A. degree (in Economics) from the University of South Florida and his J.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University.[1]

Career

Slaton began his career in 1990 as an Assistant Public Defender. He then worked as a private practice lawyer from 1992 until his judicial election in 2008. During that time, he also served as an attorney for Child Support Enforcement (1994-2005), a Traffic Magistrate (1999-2007), a Family Court Magistrate (2000-07) and a mediator. He joined the Circuit Court in January of 2009.[1]
